Kelly Clarkson is about to release her 3rd CD. A lot has been written about her conflict with Clive Davis her producer over the songs on the upcoming "My December" CD. Kelly has written the songs for the CD and does not want any changes to any of her songs. Clive wants songwriters involved in the development of the songs on the CD. This conflict should be the path to creating the great songs for this CD that we as fans deserve. Kelly needs to let songwriters work with her songs and Clive needs to let Kelly make sure the integrity of her songs remain. All great song writing teams have conflict and from that tension comes the magical creativity that produces incredible songs that sometimes become classics. Just look through history, Lennon and McCartney, Jagger and Keith Richards, Steve Tyler and Joe Perry, Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambura and many others from current history. No one can do it alone and be as great as they can be after they have had to push their songs through the filter of others with similar creativity and experience. Kelly loves many different styles of music and in the past she has worked well with many songwriters and that has produced some incredible songs of which history will remember as classics. Kelly and Clive need to compromise and the result will be a great selection of songs for her new CD. Kelly and Clive both need to remember that we the fans deserve nothing less than the best CD the two of you together can produce. Let your conflict be the path to great songs for music fans, we should come first, we buy the CDs, and we go to the concerts.
